Hello. My name is Matthew Gerber and I have been a career Firefighter with the City of Green Bay, WI since Aug. 1 1994. My reason for creating this website is simple...... History. There is a really neat box of old photos we keep on the department of years gone by. Also, there is a really nice History book put together from some of these photos. This book however is quite old. After the book there is quite a big hole of little to nothing regarding Green Bay Fireground photos, or just our personnel doing the job day to day. This was history lost. Then came August 13th, 2006. On this day we lost one of our own, Lt. Arnie Wolff, at a basement fire. The days following the fire we were scrambling to find pictures of Lt. Wolff and there were few to be found. During the investigation of the incident many questions were brought up as well. Where was this rig placed? Where was this hose initially pulled? Who pulled this line? Where was this crew initially? What fire conditions was the house showing? These were all questions asked. I hope with my photos we will have these answers captured in the future. Photos can be used to document history, as well as be used as a training tool. Now on my days off, I chase my scanner to get these shots. I have seen my Brothers and Sisters on the job do some pretty incredible things. This site is dedicated to them. Thanks for looking.

Stay Disciplined.
